Idle problem in Drive. My 2013 Escape 2.0 with 135K miles has just developed a rough idle to the point of wanting to stall in drive. If I shift to neutral it idles fine. It otherwise runs fine. It's when I come to a stop in drive, it's as though the transmission is still trying to move the car forward. Transmission was flushed about 30k miles ago.You can disconnect the cable (see step 4 in the video) to get enough room to slide the battery forward. Your friend would have to jump start it or recharge it when the car is required again. Lot of info here and it may need to be removed and stored to preserve ... Over time, this will drain your battery. Best to start the car and run it for a while at least once a week. There are some fuses you can pull to cut off this draw, you'll need to look them up in the manual. But if you or a trusted friend ca start and run the car once a week, this would be the better option.
